The Mandalorian & Grogu

The return of Din Djarin and his little green friend is officially confirmed. However there will be a little wait.

In what will be the first Star Wars film since 2019, the duo will return with a release date set for the 22nd of May in 2026.

It is fair to say that Star Wars fans had a mixed reaction to 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. It is true that most of the damage had been done by its predecessor The Last Jedi. There was also the loss of irreplaceable Carrie Fisher presented challenges. However this was following a lukewarm reception to 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, in what was a prequel for the loveable rogue smuggler. Since then Star Wars has played it safer sticking to television series through the Disney+ platform.

The first of these live action series was The Mandalorian. It premiered in November 2019 and it was an instant hit. Grogu or as he was known then Baby Yoda was on everyone’s news feeds and the merchandise from cuddly toys to printed t-shirts was available everywhere.

The show went on to have three seasons. Some incredible moments, including that hallway scene and the first live action version of everyone’s favourite Padawan.

It would spawn two spin off series, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, all set around the same timeframe. The upcoming Skeleton Crew will also be in the same time period.

What new adventures will Din Djarin and Grogu be up to? To catch up on there past deeds or if you have not seen the show yet you can check it out on Disney+.
