The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim Update

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is an upcoming anime fantasy film set 183 years before the original trilogy. It is directed by Kenji Kamiyama with the screenplay by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.
The story will explore the war between the people of Rohan and the men of Dunland. Rohan’s king Helm Hammerhand who will be voiced by the famous Brian Cox, are under attack from Wulf a lord of the men of Dunland seeking vengeance for the death of his father. The ferocity of the attack leads Helm and the people of Rohan to seek shelter in the ancient stronghold of Hornburg, this will be famously be renamed to Helm’s Deep.
This is the same fortress which Theoden led the people of Rohan to seek refuge in when they were under attack from Saruman and his Uruk-hai. They successful held the fortress with the help of Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, the elves of Lorien and a late arrival from Gandalf and Eomer.
Helm Hammerhand was born in the Third Age 2691. He succeeded the throne at 50 years old and became King of Rohan in Third Age 2741. His father and grandfathers reign had been sought with war with the Dunlendings. He was known as Hammerhand because of his incredible strength and skill with his fists, there were times he would fight with his bare fists, or wield a fercious war-hammer.
Miranda Otto will reprise her role as Eowyn in the upcoming film.
Helm Hammerhand has appeared in other adaptions of the Lord of the Rings universe, perhaps most noteably in the video-game Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Here it shows his fate was to become a Nazgul, one of the nine doomed mortal men. He receives his ring from Sauron and Celembrimbor after he was mortally wounded in an ambush by Wulf’s men.
